Expectations and Grading Policy
Students are expected to try their best in all music activities. It will be known that wrong notes are a normal path to developing good musicianship, but achievement requires effort. Because participation and learning to work as a group/ensemble are such an integral part of developing good musicianship, students will be heavily graded on their participation expectations. The grading policy reflects this emphasis on making an effort to demonstrate their mastery.
Assignments
Classroom assignments will be completed during class. Students will occasionally be expected to work in groups or with partners. 5th and 6th graders will be expected to take notes.

Class rules are simple--come in with a good attitude and always try the activity presented. Here is a picture of the rules we follow in music class:
Music Note
If per chance you see one of our "Low Music Notes" come home in a take home folder, please sign and date it and then send it back the next day. Two music notes per marking period will result in a lunch/recess detention.
